What I realized that I was hoping that whoever did this got caught, locked up and the keys thrown away. I was hoping for something that more than likely won't happen. The chances of the person getting caught is very slim. I was hoping in man not in God. Almost instantly my thoughts changed to that I hope God gets ahold of that person and changes their life. The thing is once I changed where I was placing my hope I found a peace about the situation.
The thing is when we put our hope in man we are putting our hope in a hopeless cause. Man is flawed and will fail to come through with an outcome that you were wanting. How many times have you hoped for a favorite team to when and they lost. Maybe you even hoped that you would get something down and failed at doing so. You are then left feeling like you are worthless, a failure, or just bummed.
When we place our hope in God we know that He is faithful, just, and is working things out for our good. We get our eyes focused on the One that is in control of all and off of the one who tries to control what is not something that is within their power to control. When we place our hope in God, we are then able to find peace in that hope.
