Ever feel defeated when you take a look at what is going on in this world? I sure have. We all have felt defeated at one time or another. Most of what we here and see in the news can make us want to curl up in our shell like a turtle and not come out. Now added on top of that personal hurts to the list and you may want to never come out of your shell.

There is a thief that has three basic purposes, all of which are to cause to feel defeated. These are just a couple of examples of his work there are a lot more areas that he works in the same manner. First the thief comes to steal our peace. Just look at the news and all that is going on in this world. The biggest robber of our peace, of course financial problems, family problems and more can all steal our peace. The next thing that the thief does is kill our confidence. When we start to look at and compare ourselves with others our confidence dies. We are comparing ourselves to someone else's identity and not seeking God for what His plans are for our lives. All of this leads to the destruction of our joy. If the thief can do all three of these things to us, he has stopped us from living in the abundant life that Jesus came to give us.
We don't have to wave the white flag of defeat, throw in the towel or however you want to put it; because, we already have the victory over this thief. Jesus defeated that thief when He rose from the dead. Because of that we have that victory of the thief when we place our faith in Jesus. By keeping our eyes on Him, we can take Him at His word and walk victoriously.
