Every time Charlie Brown would go to Lucy's booth I would tell him not to talk to her when I was young. He would always end up feeling worse than before talking to her. You know Lucy probably went to Violet and her other friends, telling them what he just said to her and laughing about it.
Mary was at the point she needed to share with someone what the angel had said to her. Sure she told her mom and her mom would have warned her to becareful in who she talked to. The gossip once she started showing was going to be scandalous. Of course she would have to tell Joseph, he would have to decide what he was going to do. Would he even believe her?
There was one person that she could talk to and that was Elizabeth. The only thing is that Elizabeth was 80-100 miles away, that would be a 4-5 day walk if she walked 20 miles a day. Surely, her parents found a caravan that she could travel with, it would be dangerous for her to go on her own.
Once there, Mary greeted Elizabeth and the baby inside Elizabeth leap for he was in the presence of the Messiah. Elizabeth was about 6 months and had been felling movement. This was no normal movement that John made, it was very different. What a confirmation that was for Mary, so much so that she just burst out to Elizabeth all that she was feeling and holding on to since Gabriel told her that God had chosen her.
Like Mary, there are times that I can't wait to tell someone what God is doing in my life. Who is going to see things the way I see them? Who isn't going to share it with other as a prayer request?
