Last week three of my friends lost a family member, another is hurting from a previous loss of a spouse, another got married and others planning their wedding for this weekend. The emotions are scattered all over the map. Now let's add the hustle and bustle of the season to this, and our hearts can be so full that we have no room for Him.
Let me share this morning with you. I woke up very excited to share this post with you as God had revealed it to me not realizing that He was still unfolding it while I was writing it. I stopped and was puzzled why, how had I missed 'The Bite of Bread" Periscope with @wordsbyandylee. As I was thinking the words, my oldest son burst out of his room yelling "What Happened?!?!" He had a breakfast meeting with at friend at 8:15 and it was 8:03.
I told him that he had really pushed himself last week and his body just needed the sleep. As I told him that I realized that I was too excited, too rush, too focused on what my day was like to take/make the time for one of my encouraging parts of the day besides my own study. I hadn't even taken the time to make coffee yet.
As I contemplated what had happened in my own life, I was reminded of what one of my friends posted about after her dad had died earlier in the week. How she just had to get alone with God and emptied her heart out to Him and He had reached down and touched her. I realized that I need that time to empty my heart so that I could fill it with Him.
Click to Tweet: At His feet, we need to place all the stuff that is in our hearts that keeps us from having room for Him
It is there that we can find the peace, joy, and comfort to replace the hurts and burdens that weigh us down in life. It is important no matter what that we take the time to make room for Him in our hearts daily in order to keep the negative emotions at bay to allow Him fill us with His peace, love, and joy.
