This time, Martha has her focus in the right place serving Jesus. She isn't looking right or left as to what others are doing. She is happy in serving Jesus.
Mary, however, finds herself in another controversy. It seems like everyone has it in for Mary. This time Judas was upset by her using a costly oil to anoint the feet of Jesus.
Both times Mary did nothing wrong. The ones that were in the wrong were the ones that Jesus corrected for their focus being wrong. This time it was Judas and his focus was on money.
Mary's focus has always been on Jesus. This time she gave what was most valuable to her. The oil that she anointed His feet with was more than likely part, if not all, of her dowry. With her focus on Him, Mary gave her most precious possession to Jesus. He had become her All in all.
When we take our focus off of Him that is when our differences become a problem. We become judge in how people act and behave. If they don't meet our standards then we get bent out of shape.
When we focus on the Lord it is His standards that matter. We see others as part of His solution instead of the problem. So, where is your focus?
