HOW TO PRAY
One thing I like to do to do when I'm struggling is to look up verse dealing with the struggle. Then pray it back to God. Example: I'm need wisdom in making a decision. I look up the verse:
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him." (James 1:5 ESV).
Then I would pray , "Lord, You said that if we lack in wisdom all we have to do is ask and You will give it. I need wisdom in this..."
Another way I like praying is by having an acronym that I can follow. Over the years there are several that I have used. My favorite is one that a friend and my favorite blogger, Rachel Wojo, came up with. It goes along with the thought of having a conversation with God. CH@T You can get a printable at the link. CH@T stands for:
C - cheer God on for who He is
H - humble yourself
@ - appreciate what He has done
T - tell God your needs
When I am struggling in my prayer time, I will go to Rachel Wojo's website for inspiration. She has devoted a whole section of her website to prayer. There are prayers for almost ever struggle that we go through. So check out Rachel's page on PRAYER.
Take some time to make a place where you can go and be alone in prayer. Don't trust your mind to remember the prayer request. Make a journal and watch God at work.
