If you had to describe God what are some of the things you would say about Him? Not just the God is good, God is awesome type of answers. What has God proven to you in shocking detail to you. Elihu described God's goodness and his majesty to get you thinking of God in a more thought provoking way. You start to see God in a way you never have before.
I want to do that with two very different aspects about God. Yet, they are very closely connected. First, I will look at His power, not just any power but the power of creation. Because of His power it brings us to the fact that He is worthy of praise.
When we look at creation not only the account in Genesis chapter 1, also in Psalms 33, Hebrews 11, 2 Peter 3 and other state that God spoke, commanded, breathed into existence creation as we know it. Think about that, He spoke. It was the sound of His voice that set creation into action. So what is sound? Sound is a vibration in the air. It has like a rippling effect. The closer you are to the center of it the louder it is and the further away the more faint it sounds. Now think about this the universe as we know it is still expanding. On day 4 in Genesis God created the stars in the sky. His word went out and is still going out creating new stars and expanding the universe as the ripples of that command move out. Let's look a little closer to home. God spoke the Earth, the ground, the water into existence, all this from the sound of His voice. Now looking at the field of Quantum Physics, going beyond the atom to the subatomic world, we find that everything is a vibration. The building blocks of the atoms are created by vibrations.
Man, however was not just spoke into existence, Genesis chapter 2, tells us that God came down to Earth and got His hands dirty. He formed man out of the dirt that He spoke into existence. When you stop and think that God took His time to physically get Involved in creating man when everything else He just spoke into being, kind of make you see how important you are to Him. Man didn't just happen to crawl out of some swamp that got struck by lightening. God, Himself made man. Not in just any image, He made man in the image of Himself. Just as God is 3 in 1, Father, Son and Spirit; so are we, body, mind and spirit. Is your mind blown yet, I know mine is?
Because of all of this makes God worthy of Our praise. On Palm Sunday as Jesus enter Jerusalem the people were cheering Him. The Pharasees were not happy about at and asked Jesus to silence the people. He told them that even if He did that the stones would cry out. Isaiah 55:12 states, “For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands." I got to thinking that I love being up in the forest listening to the wind in the trees, the birds singing and the sound of a nearby stream, they are all part of God's worship band. Watch the 2 videos below and see God's marvelous creation in ways that will continue to blow your mind.
