I am so thankful that His mercies are new every morning. That means what I did wrong yesterday is not held against me today. Each day is a fresh new start to be the best that we can be. For so long I knew this verse but never really grasped the implications of it till recently.
I would focus on the mistakes I made in the past and try it figure out what I should have done. The would've, should've, could've; are all thieves. They still peace and suck out the joy of living. They cause you to strive to be perfect so that there are no regrets in what you did or said.
A good friend of mine taught me that the past is perfect there is nothing that can be done to change it, all we can do is live in the present and make the best of each minute. That means we can't would've, should've, could've; away the time on the past. Likewise, we can't stress and worry about what might happen in the future, for when we do fear comes upon us and we are stopped from being able to enjoy what is happening in the now.
So, since God's mercy towards me is new every morning, then I need to extend that same mercy to myself and everyone else that I come in contact with. Thank God for His new mercies that He give each and every morning. Extend that mercy to yourself and others every day, see how much better life can be.
