She was with Jesus daily
Mary became a close follower of Jesus. She wanted to hear everything He was teaching. She was being fed daily in her spiritual life.
Likewise, we need to be hearing from Him daily, through the Bible and in prayer. Just once a week was not enough for Mary and it isn't enough for us.
She got involved
There was no, "I don't have time" or "I'm not sure what to do" with Mary. She didn't even wait a certain amount of time. Mary jumped in and served Jesus in whatever way she could.
It is exciting when you see new Christians get involved and serve. Their love and excitement for Jesus can be contagious. There is room for all of us to serve, we just need to jump in like Mary.
She supported His ministry
Mary and some other women were the support of Jesus' ministry. They probably went and bought the food for Jesus, the disciples and themselves and prepared it.
There is a blessing that comes from giving your support to the Lord. Wether it is financially or with your time, when you help support the growth of the Kingdom of God you will get blessed.
She stayed in fellowship with others
Mary didn't go off on her own. She was a group of followers that supported Jesus. There were others in this group that had been delivered from demons and healed from diseases. They knew the transformation that could only come from Jesus and could relate to each other.
We can't be the Lone Ranger and do this life on our own. We need others to encourage us when we get down. Be there to encourage others when they are down. Share the burdens and the joys along the way.
She never went back
Mary didn't go back to her old life. She left it all behind her. Even when it all seemed to have been lost when Jesus died. Mary still stayed with the disciples and His mother.
This is the one thing that I believe many of us suffer in not doing. Not that we go back to our old life but hold on to the past wether it was good or bad. This is the burden that holds us back.
Let's learn from Mary in the things that she did after her transformation. By doing so we can celebrate the risen Lord as she did.
