I love a good mystery. When I was young I loved playing Clue with Granddad. Then I fell in love with Nancy Drew, Sherlock Holmes, and Agatha Christie. My brother and I would retend to solove our own mystries. Now the mystries that I solve is where did my husband put his keys, or who used the hair dryer and left hair stuff all over the handle of it. The later is the easiest to solve. Since the culprit bought me a new hair dryer for my birthday I won't have to hunt him down anymore.
Heaven has a mystery. One that benefits us. I love how the Amplified version describes this mystery.

Not only are the angles puzzled by this mystery but when you stop to think about the way God loves us isn't how we would operate. Remember when playing with clay or playdough and it didn't turn out the way you wanted it to so you would smash it and start all over again. I'm sure the angels felt that same way with mankind.
Yet God is sharing His riches with us. This is the mystery. Why didn't He just wipe out man and start over with the fall? What about the flood, He could've starred over again then? What are His riches in glory?
We know what is not counted as riches. Here gold is valuable, in Heaven it is used to pave the streets. Pearls are used as gates in Heaven and jewels for building with. So what we see as valuable here on Earth is looked as nothing to God.
God's riches are for our benefit. They are:
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,”
Ephesians 2:4 NASB
“so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”
Ephesians 2:7 NASB
“Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?”
Romans 2:4 NASB
These are the riches that He has made known to us.
