I am so excite to share with you all about a a graced filled Bible study. Grin With Grace by Kathy Carlton Willis is basically 13 great lessons, when the epilogue is included, teaching on how to apply grace to our lives. Not just applying what God has shown towards us, it also challenges us to take that grace and give it to others.
While I was doing this study I was convicted that in a conversation I had in dealing with a difficult person, I stated that the person needed to learn how to season their speech with grace. As I was doing the study I realized that I was not extending grace myself. The study really opened my eyes to my shortcomings in extending grace to others.
Each lesson is divided up into five sections.
Starting with Grin with Grace. This sections a real-life stories that made me see I'm not the only one that has happened to.
The Grow in Grace section the verses that have been picked with the hand of the Cheif Surgeon works a marvelous transformation on the heart in filling it with Grace.
Next with Go in Grace comes the biblical life-applications. The ability to pick out an application that suits you better than an one fits all is great. Nothing is s stopping you from doing them all either.
Going deeper in depth is Give with Grace. This is the part that really caught me that I was not giving Grace to the other person. Just because she came across as a Drill Sargent, I was not giving her Grace for God to work in her life.
My favorite part of the book is the Your Grin-with-Grace Challenge. Putting it into practice what you just read in that chapter. Some of the challenges really hit home as if Kathy had walked in my shoes. It gives time to think of how with Grace to react to a situation.
This is on the top of my all time favorite list for a topical Bible study. It is great to do alone or in a group. Doing it as a group gives more accountability in that you can check on each other as to how the week went in Grinning With Grace.
