We can walk around in life struggling with our inner self issue or we can deal with our issue correctly and turn it over to God.
Admit that we have issues.
Most of our issues stem from us living life our way and not following God's way. Then it festers and destroys us on the inside. I like the Amplified version of David's confession; “I said, Lord, be merciful and gracious to me; heal my inner self, for I have sinned against You. Psalm 41:4 AMP. It is the inner self where our issues lay.
Admit that we can't fix ourselves.
When we try to lick our own wounds we just make things worse. In Isaiah 38, King Hezikiah was on his death bed due to trying to heal his own wounds. In King Hezikiah admits that in trying to cover up his emotional pain bitterness set in. “Indeed it was for my own peace That I had great bitterness; But You have lovingly delivered my soul from the pit of corruption, For You have cast all my sins behind Your back.” Isaiah 38:17 NKJV
Admit we need Jesus to heal us.
The woman in Luke 8, having spent all of her money on doctors that could do nothing for her, knew that she needed Jesus in order to be healed. All she needed was His touch and if that meant just to touch His clothes then that was all she needed.
What is amazing is that not only did He heal her but He also granted her peace. He is willing to give us peace when we come to Him with our issues.
